Clynically & Cynically Insane

Last night was the 83rd Oscars and Garrett (@gocats72) and me were at the Gordon and the Whale Oscar watching party in Dallas, TX. It was a great event, held at the Texas Theater in Dallas and they were giving away tons of great prizes throughout the night.

Anyways, the night before I had tweeted the above tweet, thinking nothing of it, but I did wear said shirt. Anyways, about half way through the event, during one of the commercial breaks where they would get on the mic, they got to talking about how much they loved Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Then they said “You may not think we that when you tweet us something, that we read it, but we read every tweet. Yesterday we received a tweet from someone who said they’d wear a Scott Pilgrim shirt here tonight because he loved the movie and felt it deserved an Oscar nomination. Is Ben here?” Honestly, that is what happened, and I walked up, showed the shirt, got congratulated for awesomeness, and was handed a card stock, full theater size, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World film poster signed by Edgar Wright and Michael Cera. After that, I got to help toss SP shirts into the crowd, and then returned to my seat, offered congrats and high-fives, and then enjoyed the rest of the show.

So, yes, greatest night ever. Also, I will never discount Twitter again.
